After surviving a devastating explosion, Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) vowed to kill her own brother, suspecting he had orchestrated the attacks on her family at the end of Yellowstone season three. Jamie (Wes Bentley) has maintained his innocence, but some fans think the Paramount drama is building up to a shocking twist involving his biological father.

Jamie finally met his elusive blood relative, Garrett Randall (Will Patton), near the end of Yellowstone’s gripping third season.

Garrett urged his son to ‘kill the king’ to gain power over his adopted family, leading many viewers to suspect he had something to do with the attacks on the Duttons.

Now the latest episode of the popular Western series, Winning or Learning, has finally lifted the lid on Garrett’s potential involvement in the attacks.

Following an emotional reunion with brother Kayce (Luke Grimes), Jamie is given documents that identify the person responsible for setting up the hits on the Duttons.

The files concern an incarcerated man named Riggins but also tie the felon to Jamie’s biological father.

As blog Cartermatt explained: “We saw Jamie Dutton of all people get some records from the prison about Riggins’ time there, only to learn that he has a history with his father Garrett Randall.

“The big takeaway that we’ve got at this point is rather simple: Garrett may have hired the guy. Jamie’s biological father could be behind everything.”

Though the likes of Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) and Market Equities were at the top of the list of suspects at the end of season three, Yellowstone fans are finally getting closer to knowing the full story.

All that’s left to determine is how Jamie will react now he knows Garrett was connected to his father’s would-be hitman during his time in jail.

As the most tense instalment of the series continues, fans believe a violent confrontation between the father and son is now inevitable.

Jamie has been looking to mend ties with his biological father, but he could quickly turn on him if the records tying him to Riggins are accurate.

Plus, he has already proven he has the capacity to kill, so Garrett’s time on the series could quickly be coming to a close.

Fans discussed the latest episode after it aired on Paramount on Sunday, and quickly concluded Jamie will be taking his revenge on his father very soon.

Reddit user RipsLittleCoors commented: “Oh boy. I can’t wait to see how Jamie is going to f**k this problem up.”

To which wolfoflone replied: “He’s going to kill Will Patton. That is a stone-cold mortal lock.”

And AmericanWanderlust added: “He ain’t gonna f**k this one up; he’s gonna kill his birth father. I think this starts Jamie’s redemption arc.”

Finally, Admirable-Basis-2407 speculated: “I’m very curious to see what Jamie will do.

“I find it weird he’s embraced his murderous father in the way he has. Then again, Jamie is a murderer too.”

Jamie seems more willing to bond with Garrett, the man who murdered his biological mother, than his adopted father John (Kevin Costner). But he may soon discover where his loyalties really lie once he knows for sure who set up the attacks on the Duttons.

Yellowstone season 4 continues Sundays on Paramount.
