The Dutton family faced off against yet another corporate rival, Roarke Morris (played by Josh Holloway) in the third season of Paramount’s hit drama, Yellowstone. While the shrewd businessman is expected to play a major role next season, his time on the series could be coming to an end by the time the newly confirmed fifth instalment hits screens.
Roarke Morris is expected to come to a sticky end in Yellowstone’s fourth season now series regular Josh Holloway is confirmed to be taking on a new role.
In the Western drama’s gripping third season, Morris teamed with Market Equities’ Willa Hayes (Karen Pittman) to attempt a buyout of the Yellowstone ranch, owned by the formidable John Dutton (Kevin Costner).
Following last year’s devastating finale, Morris is expected to play a prominent role when the series returns for its fourth season later this year.
The calculating corporate mastermind is at the top of many viewers’ list of suspects for the attempted killing of John and two of his children, Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce (Luke Grimes).

There has already been speculation that the Duttons will take their vengeance against their would-be assassin in what’s shaping up to be Yellowstone’s most action-packed instalment yet.
Josh Holloway is therefore heavily tipped to be killed off next season if fans’ theories prove correct.
Last week, the US star joined the cast of an upcoming drama series for HBO Max, produced by Star Wars director and Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams.
Abrams will team with screenwriter LaToya Morgan (Shameless) for the new streaming series, Duster, starring Josh Holloway in the lead role.
An official synopsis reads: “Set in the 1970’s Southwest, Duster explores the life of a getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate. Hollway will star as the driver.”
No additional cast members have been announced so far, with the series expected to act as a major starring vehicle for the Yellowstone regular.
Unfortunately, the recent casting news could put Holloway’s stint on Yellowstone in jeopardy following reports of an upcoming fifth season.
Showrunner Taylor Sheridan has also teased a number of spin-off projects in the wake of Paramount+ releasing this month.

With the Dutton family looking for revenge when the series returns, Roarke’s impending demise is considered a safe bet for most fans waiting on Yellowstone season four.
On Reddit, one fan speculated: “I think Roarke and Willa will be defeated this season, so it’s very possible that this is their last season.”
While other viewers have suggested Yellowstone’s flagship series could come to an end with its fifth season, which could shift focus to the Dutton’s longest standing rival, Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham).
Another added: “Yeah, I suspect they are defeated here, season five will be the final season and Rainwater will be the focus.”
Additionally, there’s still the question of whether son Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) will remain loyal to the family after the earth-shattering discovery of his hidden adoption.
However, the Duttons aren’t out of the woods yet, and Yellowstone remains one of the most watched cable series in the US after last year’s unmissable third season.
Roarke Morris may indeed meet his end in the near future, but the powerful ranch owners will always have new competitors waiting in the wings.
Yellowstone season 4 will premiere in June 2021 on Paramount.
