Anthony Barajas dead – TikTok star dies after being 'shot by Joseph Jimenez' alongside Rylee Goodrich in movie theater

TIKTOK star Anthony Barajas died of his injuries Saturday morning after he was allegedly shot by Joseph Jimenez at a movie theater shooting in California.

Jimenez is currently being held without bail after he allegedly stormed Regal Edwards Corona Crossings movie theater and shot Goodrich and 19-year-old Anthony Barajas on Monday night.

The Corona Police Department confirmed Barajas', 19, death. "We extend our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends," the release said.

Barajas and his friend Rylee Goodrich, 18, were watching The Forever Purge at the Regal Edwards Movie theater in Corona on Monday.

Goodrich died at the scene while Barajas was taken to a hospital where he was put on life support until he succumbed to his injuries.

    A friend of Rylee Goodrich's tweeted out a tribute to the teen alongside pictures of the two together.

    She wrote: "i cannot wrap my head around this dude. i love you so much rylee. @rylee_goodrich"

    BARAJAS AND GOODRICH ON FIRST DATE

    Rylee Goodrich's father confirmed that the teenage couple was on a date when they were gunned down Monday at a movie theater.

    Dave Goodrich, told Fox11: "It was their first date. And a boy her dad actually approved of."

    Rylee's wallet is said to have been found at his home.

    Dave Goodrich added: "She had no money in it. The boy was paying for everything and I thought she just had her phone."

    WHEN DID THE SHOOTING TAKE PLACE?

    The shooting unfolded just before midnight on Monday at the Regal Edwards Corona Crossings during a screening of The Forever Purge, a dystopian action movie where all crime is legal, including murder.

    Rylee Goodrich, 18, was found dead in her seat and her friend and TikTok star Anthony Barajas, 19, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is currently on life support.

    Staff reportedly discovered the victims while they were cleaning up after the movie finished, the New York Post reports.

    FRIEND OF BARAJAS TWEETED SUPPORT

    While victim Anthony Barajas was still on support, his friend and local photographer and journalist Malik Earnest tweeted out a touching message.

    He wrote: "My friend, Anthony Barajas, 19, is on life support after he and a friend were shot in a movie theater in Corona, California. Rylee Goodrich, 18, died on scene.

    "You never really expect a loved one could fall victim to gun violence, despite its ongoing prevalence in our nation."

    WHO WERE BARAJAS AND GOODRICH?

    Soccer player Anthony Barajas had more than 920,000 followers on TikTok and more than 40,000 followers on Instagram.

    Rylee Goodrich was a cheerleader and played volleyball.

    She was given a scholarship to Grand Canyon University in its STEM program, according to ABC7.

    Rylee's cousin Ashley Cole told the outlet that the teen had a "great heart" and enjoyed helping others.

    NO INDICATION SUSPECT KNEW VICTIMS

    Corona authorities said in a statement that they had found no evidence that Joseph Jimenez, the 20-year-old suspected of shooting Rylee Goodrich and Anthony Barajas, knew the pair.

    They also confirmed that no one involved in the crime was gang affiliated.

    Goodrich and Barajas were shot at a showing of The Forever Purge, where theater employees say the victims were shot "execution style."

    VIGILS HELD FOR VICTIMS

    Vigils were held across the Corona area on Friday after Rylee Goodrich and Anthony Barajas were gunned down at a movie theater on Monday, KABC reports.

    One vigil took place at the New Beginnings Community Church in Norco, California, where Goodrich's parents and friends shared touching memories of the late teenager.

    Alex Apatiga, a former high school classmate of Goodrich, said: "Everywhere you went she lit up the room with her smile. She was always nice to everybody."

    Fans took to Twitter to voice their tributes to popular TikTok star Anthony Barajas after he died on Saturday.

    POLICE DEPARTMENT CONFIRMS DEATH

    The Corona Police Department released a statement confirming the death of Barajas after he was taken off life support on Saturday.

    "The Corona Police Department has been notified that Anthony Barajas passed away early this morning. We extend our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends."

    The police department also revealed that it had arrested 20-year-old Joseph Jimenez, and that it is Riverside County District Attorney's Office to add an additional count of first-degree murder to his charge.

    Joseph Jimenez, who is accused of killing Barajas and Goodrich at the Corona movie theater, appeared in court on Friday.

    Barajas passed away on Saturday several days after the shooting occurred when he was removed from life support.

    The shooting took place in a Corona movie theater on Monday at a showing of The Forever Purge.

    A GoFundMe page was set up to help pay for the funeral fees of Anthony's family.

    The caption reads: "We lost our amazing brother, son, and friend in a tragic accident and is on life support currently.

    "Anthony was the light of so many peoples lives and there are tough times ahead, but we have amazing family and friends to get through this.

    "Please donate for medical funds, etc. Thank you all and anything will help!"

    WHO WAS THE SHOOTER?

    Authorities suspect the perpetrator was Joseph Jimenez, who is already facing separate murder charges.

    Jimenez is facing a murder count, attempted murder, and a robbery, TMZ reported.

    He also allegedly stole the wallet of Rylee Goodrich, the date of Anthony Barajas, before he shot her.
