Arsenal signing Thomas Partey’s rumoured girlfriend shares Insta post on plane

New Arsenal signing Thomas Partey's rumoured girlfriend has shared a cryptic Instagram post of herself on a plane as the midfielder's transfer was agreed.

The 27-year-old Ghanaian midfielder signed for the Gunners on transfer deadline day for £45 million from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

He is reported to be dating stunning Ghanaian model Gifty Boakye.

The New York-based entrepreneur shared a picture taken from an aeroplane on Monday night, just as Partey's transfer was being agreed.

Sharing a picture on her Instagram story with her almost 32k followers, the image showed the plane wing taken from inside the aircraft.

Accompanying the picture was the India Arie song "God Is Real".

She later shared a video of herself inside the plane, along with the caption: "Sending love and light."

Gifty was first pictured alongside Partey last year.

She became a model at the age of 16 and also set up her own clothing line "NVTive".

As well as modelling, Gifty has also presented events such as the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA.

In August last year, Gifty and Thomas caused a stir when they were filmed on holiday together.

A video shared on social media showed the pair singing together as they drove along in a car.

Reports in Ghana claim Thomas smuggled Gifty into the Ghana training camp, against the regulations, during last year's Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.

Partey's Arsenal transfer is said to have been greeted with fury by Atletico's board after the Premier League side triggered the player's release clause to bring him from La Liga.

In a terse statement on the club's official Twitter account, Atletico said: "Arsenal pay Thomas Partey's buyout clause at La Liga headquarters. The player has unilaterally terminated his contract with our club."

But Arsenal fans have reacted with jubilation to the news, with British singer and rapper Donae'O – who is also a Gunners supporter – vowing to remix one of his songs in Partey's honour.

Donae'O, real name Ian Greenidge, promised to remix his 2009 hit Party Hard to mark the new signing if he got 20,000 likes and 3,000 retweets.
