This is the creepy moment a man is caught on camera hanging a dead rabbit up to the gate of a UK home.
Under the cover of darkness, the stranger can be seen feverishly running up to the fence with the deceased animal attached to a piece of string in Staffordshire.
Along with what looks like a note of paper, he then ties the corpse around the gate, making sure it’s on the side facing the house.
After checking the tragic bunny is securely attached, the man looks around and runs off, reports Mail Online.
The lifeless creature was put on the home’s gate late at night, and caught on camera thanks to the occupant's doorbell.
DC Josh Lee, of Staffordshire Police, said: “This event, which is part of a wider course of action, is utterly abhorrent.
“We are unsure what motivates someone to undertake such actions and are keen to get the public’s help to identify him.
“Someone knows him, perhaps a neighbour, friend or relative.
“Thankfully this sort of behaviour is extremely rare but it is concerning that someone would undertake such activity.”
The eerie incident occurred last month, on Monday August 2, but detectives have issued a fresh plea this month because they were unable to find the culprit.

It comes a year after a similar incident involving dead rabbits at a location in Nuneaton, less than 30 miles away from the Staffordshire home this eerie incident took place.
Footage taken from a home surveillance camera on the evening of the off attack shows a mini SUV stopping at the kerb, before a driver and three passengers step out and throws a couple of dead rabbits.
Horrified residents woke up to find the rabbit carcasses lying in front of their doors the next morning.
