Denver weather forecast today: Warmer than average Tuesday ahead

Denver is in for a couple more days of warmer weather before a cold front pops into the area and brings snow chances on Thanksgiving Day.

Tuesday is sunny with a high is 55 degrees, five degrees above normal, then clouds will start forming overnight as the low drops to 25 degrees.

Wednesday will then be partly cloudy, but the high is 52 degrees is still a couple degrees above normal. Wind gusts Wednesday could reach up to 28 mph.

The cold front is expected to come through overnight Wednesday or Thursday morning, bringing a 20% chance of snow after midnight. Thanksgiving Day has a 30% chance of snow before noon, and the daytime high is 40 degrees.

Light snow accumulation between a trace and an inch could occur in the southern Denver metro area, and up to three inches could fall in the Palmer Divide.

Thanksgiving morning travelers may encounter some potentially slick roads due to the snow.

Thursday night’s low is 23 degrees, then temperatures rebound quickly Friday with an above-normal high of 54 degrees.
