Girl, 5, shot in face and killed by friend as they play with loaded gun
A five-year-old girl has died after a lifelong friend accidentally shot her in the head while playing with a gun.
Jada Willingham, 5, had been playing with her friend when their babysitter heard the fatal gunshot, followed by crying.
When the babysitter entered the room, she found the little girl bleeding from her face, according to local reports.
Jada was taken to hospital where she later died.
Police believe Jada was shot in the face by accident by a friend but a probe has been launched by detectives in Lithonia, Georgia, U.S.
Investigators spoke to Jada's longtime babysitter, who was in the house when the tragedy unfolded.
The babysitter said the two girls had been been playing together, and apparently had found a loaded handgun, playing with it in a bedroom.
The 68-year-old woman told DeKalb County police investigators Jada was one of four children she was watching at the time of the shooting, People reported.
Detectives said they had arrived at the scene to find the babysitter kneeling by Jada trying to stem her bleeding with a cloth.

On Saturday, police charged 36-year-old Chad Brooks Sr, with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children for allegedly leaving the gun unattended.
A GoFundMe page set up to help cover funeral arrangements describes Jada as a “beautiful, loving girl”.
“Due to this sad accident a mother is without her beautiful 5 year old daughter this holiday season,” the GoFundMe says.
“This 5 year old little girl will never get to see another birthday, holidays, school graduation again and it isn’t fair.“
