Prince Harry could bring Archie to the UK with him as as an “olive branch” to the rest of the royals, an expert has claimed.

He and Prince William will be reunited in the grounds of Kensington Palace on July 1 to unveil a statue in honour of their late mum Princess Diana, to mark what would have been her 60th birthday.

The event will celebrate her life and work, and will be the brothers’ second face-to-face meeting since Megxit.

WhileMeghan MarkleandKate Middletonare not expected to attend, one commentator believes the Duke of Sussex could bring his son to the UK.

Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, told Closer magazine: “From what I've heard from reliable royal sources, Harry will return for his mother's statue unveiling.

“He's thought to be planning on staying at Frogmore [his former home with Meghan], and he'll obviously have to quarantine.

“But he won't be alone, there's strong reason to believe that Archie will be with him.”

He added: “The decision to bring him could be the very first sign of guilt from Harry.

“I think he still believes that what he and Meghan did was the right thing – but bringing Archie back would be an olive branch of some sort and a definite sign that he’s looking to call a truce over what’s happened recently. It could help heal a lot of hurt.”

Tensions have been high between the brothers for several years, and seem to have escalated since Harry’s interview withOprah Winfreywas broadcast.

They were pictured chatting afterPrince Philip’sfuneral in April, but it is unclear how much progress was made during the “peace talks”.

By Harry’s own admission, the brothers have been on “different paths” for several years.

Royal expert Angela Levin believes their relationship is tinged by bitterness and a lack of trust.

She toldOK!: “Harry doesn’t like his own privacy being broken, but he seems to be breaking it for his own family.

“It’s nerve-wracking – they are worried about any conversations they have with Harry being relaid or leaked to the press. The royals just can’t trust him right now.”

The statue of Diana was created by acclaimed British artist Ian Rank-Broadley, who also designed the UK coins which feature her majesty the Queen’s profile from 1998 onward.

Harry and William had been working on the project together since 2017.

Angela continued: ”It’s a huge embarrassment that this joyous occasion is clouded by the current situation.

“I just hope it doesn't take attention away from the extraordinary woman they are celebrating.”
