Hotel swimming pool trashed as 'disgusting' yobs hurl sunloungers and parasols into water at UK resort

A HOTEL swimming pool was trashed by "disgusting" yobs who hurled sunloungers and parasols into the water.

"Delinquent" guests sparked outrage after wrecking the outdoor area at Atlantic Reach, near Newquay, Cornwall, hurling furniture into the pool.

Shocking photos posted by the resort showed plastic chairs, sun loungers and even parasols floating in the water at the UK holiday resort.

The "absolutely disgusting" louts were slammed as staff mounted a clear-up operation after the "huge kick in the teeth".

Thousands of pounds of furniture had to be fished out with resort workers forced to trawl the pool for broken glass.

A post on the Atlantic Reach Facebook page said: "Happy Sunday everyone.

'UTTERLY DISGUSTING'

"Some helpful guests completely trashed our outdoor pool and a vast amount of furniture last night. Just what we need.

"If anyone has any information that might help us track the culprits down, please get in touch.

"Service will be a bit slow this morning folks. Apologies."

The Facebook post has been shared almost 500 times as outraged social media users slammed the yobs who wreaked havoc.

In another post, the award-winning holiday resort thanked wellwishers for their support and blasted the "anti-social behaviour".

The post said: "No doubt the parents of these delinquents will be the type to complain or leave a bad review if there is insufficient or tatty furniture for them to sit on during their stay.

"We face a big clean up, a major safety issue while we assess the full extent of damage, a closed pool, less furniture for wonderful guests to sit on when the sun shines again, more cost that really is a huge kick in the teeth and a lot of additional stress for an already, very hard working team.

"This antisocial behaviour is utterly disgusting."

Another post said the "vandals" were known to them and police would be left to handle the situation.
