Inside Jeff Bezos’ billionaire world of mansions and yachts as tycoon turns 57

Billionaire boss Jeff Bezos celebrates his birthday on Tuesday.

The world’s second richest man, who is worth an estimated $184billion (£135billion), will mark his 57th birthday.

He was recently overtaken as the wealthiest person on the globe by Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his $188.5billion (£136billion) fortune.

Musk’s net worth has shot up thanks to Tesla share prices surging.

Bezos, who founded Amazon in 1994 in Seattle, Washington, has unsurprisingly not commented on the news.

Being the world’s second richest man means he’s hardly short of cash.

And billionaires saw their fortunes soar last year by 27% to £7.9trillion during the coronavirus pandemic, largely due to rising global share prices, according to Swiss bank UBS.

From private jets to mansions, dad-of-four Bezos – who split from his wife MacKenzie Scott in 2019 – spends his fortune as you’d expect a multi-billionaire to do so.

A glimpse inside his luxury world gives a hint as to how he’s likely to celebrate the occasion.

His cars and private jet

The business magnate reportedly uses a Honda Accord to travel to work.

But he is also the owner of a number of supercars – including a £2million ($3million) Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio and a £3.7million ($5million) Lamborghini Veneno, according to the Sun.

Bezos also has a £3.5million ($4.8million) Koenigsess CCXR Trevita.

On top of that, he also has his own private jet – a $65million Gulfstream G650ER which he uses to cross America.

Property

Bezos is said to own luxury homes worth more than £220million ($300million), which are spread across the US.

The tycoon owns the biggest home in Washington D.C, a 27,000 square foot mansion.

Elsewhere, he spent £70million ($96million) on four adjacent apartments in a building in Fifth Avenue, New York over the last two years.

Last year he also bought the Warner estate, a home in Beverly Hills, California, for around £120million ($165million), The Wall Street Journal reported.

The sprawling estate has a 13,600 square foot mansion, a pool, a tennis court and two guesthouses.

His other properties include a 30,000-acre ranch in Texas.
