James Middleton, brother of Kate Middleton, has married girlfriend Alizée Thevenet in an intimate ceremony, according to reports.

The couple met in London in 2018 and are believed to have jetted off to Alizée’s native France to make it official.

HELLO! magazine reports they tied the knot on Saturday surrounded by close friends and family.

Among those in attendance were the Duchess of Cambridge and husband Prince William and their family.

They were Pippa Middleton and other half James Matthews as well as parents Carole and Michael.

Even the family's beloved dogs Luna and Mabel managed to make the trip.

James announced the exciting news to his followers today, writing: “Mr & Mrs Middleton [heart emoji].

“Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village of Bormes-les-Mimosas.

“Words cannot describe how happy I am."

The beautiful ceremony took place two years after their engagement, following James' proposal with a gorgeous sapphire ring in the Lake District.

Like many couples across the UK, the pair had to postpone their special date because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Their original date of May 2020 was pushed back twice.

"They’re just so happy it’s finally going ahead," a source close to the pair told HELLO! Magazine.

Just last month, the loved-up duo posted a snap of themselves beaming as they announced they'd bought a house together.

Posting on August 6, James said: "It’s been a hectic few months moving in to our new home & we couldn’t be happier.

"We are settling into our life in the country & the dogs their new home."

Previously, James revealed how he credits his pet pooch, Ella, in helping him meet his future wife.

The 34-year-old wrote in The Telegraph: "The two of us (Ella and me) were at the South Kensington Club in Chelsea. Ella was lying at my feet under the table; realising she might want some water, I trusted her to take herself over to the water bowl across the terrace.

"However, she made a beeline for Alizée. Rather embarrassed, I went over to apologise and bring Ella back.

"But Alizée thought I was the waiter and ordered her drink while continuing to stroke Ella, who at this point was on her back lapping up the attention.

"Little did I know, but I had just met my future wife, all thanks to Ella.

"If I hadn't trusted Ella, I wouldn't have brought her to the South Kensington Club and she wouldn't have been able to say hi to the woman who became my fiancée."
