Man sprays bleach in shoppers’ eyes as cops rush to Asda supermarket
A man has been arrested outside an Asda after spraying bleach into shoppers' eyes.
The suspect attacked people in Chorley town centre, Lancashire, with the chemical substance around 9.30am this morning.
Officers were called to the scene and detained him outside an Asda supermarket on Bolton Street.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "This morning we have received reports of a male in Chorley town centre spraying people in the eyes with a substance believed to be bleach.
"We have attended quickly and located the suspect near to Asda where he has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
"Contrary to the belief of the spectators, he has not been arrested for begging."
Lancashire Police declined to comment further when approached by Daily Star Online..
