Meghan Markle’s will be mentioned in the final season of Suits

Before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was best known for her role as Rachel Zane on legal drama Suits.

And while Meghan left the show in 2018 to join the royal family, her on-screen husband, played by Patrick J Adams, says Meghan is ‘obviously’ still part of the show.

Adams, who left the show with Meghan but will return to guest star this season,  revealed he will phone Rachel with the couple declaring their love for one another one the phone.

The Duchess of Sussex lived in Toronto for seven years while filming the US legal drama, which started in 2011. She played paralegal Rachel Zane, who later became a lawyer and married the show’s protagonist Mike Ross, played by Adams

Speaking to ET, he said: ‘For Mike, this is just a trip to New York. He’s in Seattle, [Mike and Rachel] are building their life together, it sounds like he’s doing well.’

‘It seems to me like Mike’s in a great place. Whatever is happening in Seattle is really good,’ he explained

‘There’s phone calls with Rachel saying, “Goodbye, I love you,” and, you know, I think there’s some obvious acknowledgement that she’s still there and a part of the show.’

‘We’re happy. I promise you they’re happy.’

‘It’s weird. We all have kids now,’ Adams, 37, added. ‘It’s fantastic. I mean, it just changes everything in your life. It gives you a new purpose.’

He said the idea of matchmaking his new daughter with baby Archie ‘sounds like a crazy world’ but said he was ‘really happy’ for his former co-star.  

While working as an actress, Meghan also ran lifestyle blog The Tig, and while she has given up her career in showbiz, she is reportedly in talks for a monthly column in Vogue.

The Duchess is in discussions with Anna Wintour about writing a regular column focusing on her charity work which will appear in both the British and US magazines.

Sources close to the talks say the monthly feature would be similar to the article being put together to accompany her upcoming photoshoot for the publication’s September issue in the UK.

But Meghan will not appear on the cover of the magazine due to her reported desire for the story to focus on women’s empowerment instead of her.
