Melania Trump ‘has no plans to divorce Donald’ after election loss, friend says
Melania Trump has no plans to divorce Donald Trump, according to reports.
The First Lady’s friends are said to have denied rumours she intends to split from her husband after he lost the US election.
Two of her close friends are reported to be sure she will stay with him for the immediate future, the Metro reports.
Rumours have been circulating she plans to ditch the Republican US President – who she married in 2005 – following his defeat at the hands of Joe Biden earlier this month.
Mrs Trump’s official spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham dismissed questions about divorce.
She told the Washington Post: "This question is pathetic and exactly why people no longer trust the mainstream media.
"No legitimate journalist would ask this."
Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former advisor to Mr Trump, 74, previously claimed she wouldn’t divorce him until he left the White House.
She claimed his wife, 50, feared he would "punish" her otherwise, according to the Express.
Omarosa said: "Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce.
"If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he's in office, he would find a way to punish her."

She also recently said on ITV’s Lorraine the couple sometimes "like each other" – but sometimes Mrs Trump "is repulsed by him".
But Ms Grisham rubbished Ms Newman’s remarks, adding: "Mrs Trump rarely, if ever, interacted with Omarosa.
"It’s disappointing to her that she is lashing out and retaliating in such a self-serving way, especially after all the opportunities given to her by the President."
In the wake of his defeat, Mr Trump refused to accept he lost the election.
He has made repeated claims of voter fraud, without providing evidence, and is taking legal action in key states.
On Monday he again accused the Democrats on Twitter of trying to "steal" the election.
