Prince William ‘very protective’ of Kate Middleton after Oprah interview claims
Prince William is "very protective" of Kate Middleton after the Oprah Winfrey interview, it has been claimed.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's chat with Oprah including a string of bombshell claims which have rocked the family as the pair talked about stepping down as working royals.
The accusations included the claim that Kate made Meghan cry in a row over bridesmaid dresses before the latter's wedding in May 2018.
Royal biographer Penny Junor said: "William is very protective of Kate and can get very angry.
"For Meghan to name Kate in a negative light is worse than being attacked himself."
Meanwhile, it has also been claimed that William is concerned about details of private conversations with his brother being "plastered over American TV" after a telly pal of Meghan's let slip the pair had "unproductive" talks.
CBS This Morning host Gayle King revealed William and Harry have finally talked since the Oprah interview.
A source told Vanity Fair: "There's a lack of trust on both sides which makes moving forward very hard.
"William is now worried that anything he says to his brother will be plastered over American TV."
Other bombshell claims made in the Oprah interview included Meghan saying she "didn't want to be alive anymore" and alleged concerns by someone in the Royal family about baby Archie's skin tone.
Buckingham Palace released a statement after the interview saying: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
