A 15-year-old schoolgirl tragically passed away after suffering an electric shock in the bath.

The victim, identified as Anna K, was found dead at home in Moscow, Russia, after the tragic accident.

Investigators believe either her charging mobile phone or a faulty washing machine caused the electric shock.

Prior to having a bath, a neighbour had reported a water leak through his ceiling.

The bathroom was locked and her stepdad broke down the door, finding Anna dead along with her phone.

A “faulty” washing machine, previously suspected by the family of giving mild shocks in the bath, was also running at the time.

A paramedic doctor called to the scene in New Moscow suburb said Anna had died from an electric shock.

Her mum and grandmother were also home when the tragedy took place.

Anna’s death follows warnings in Russia over the risks of electrocution from using smartphones in bathrooms.

The past two years have seen a number of tragic cases of deaths from electric shocks involving teenagers and young adults.
