One man in a high-vis top runs towards the truck in an effort to help while another pedestrian waves his arms at the driver in an attempt to get him to stop.

Footage shows the woman drop her shopping bags and run forward ahead of the truck as it begins to move before moving to the side in a bid to avoid being crushed by the vehicle.

The CCTV shows the driver stop the vehicle in the middle of the four-way junction and he then gets out of the cab to check what was going on.

The driver got out of his vehicle and appeared to apologise for the near miss incident.

The woman and the driver then appear to exchange words about the incident as the passers-by come and check on the woman’s welfare and help her gather her shopping.

After both parties have had their say, the driver gets back in the truck and heads on his way.
