Shocking moment a woman is nearly crushed by a truck after the driver fails to spot her in front of his HGV

This is the shocking moment a woman is nearly crushed by a truck after the driver fails to spot her in front of his vehicle.
The near-miss happened in Batley, West Yorkshire, when CCTV caught the woman attempting the cross the road in front of the huge HGV which then begins to move.
The woman can be heard shrieking in fear as she desperately scrambles to get out of the way of the truck while bystanders attempt to get the driver’s attention.

The truck is stopped at a four way junction in Batley and the woman crosses in front of it
One man in a high-vis top runs towards the truck in an effort to help while another pedestrian waves his arms at the driver in an attempt to get him to stop.
Footage shows the woman drop her shopping bags and run forward ahead of the truck as it begins to move before moving to the side in a bid to avoid being crushed by the vehicle.
Fortunately, the female pedestrian makes it out of the near-miss unscathed and although appears shaken is able to walk away from the scene.
The CCTV shows the driver stop the vehicle in the middle of the four-way junction and he then gets out of the cab to check what was going on.
When traffic allows, the truck then moves off with the driver unaware the woman is in front
The woman miraculously manages to run ahead of the truck for some time before it stops
The driver got out of his vehicle and appeared to apologise for the near miss incident.
The woman and the driver then appear to exchange words about the incident as the passers-by come and check on the woman’s welfare and help her gather her shopping.
After both parties have had their say, the driver gets back in the truck and heads on his way.
