Urban explorer falls to his death filming YouTube video in derelict building

A Russian urban explorer has tragically died after falling from a derelict building where he was filming his latest video for his thousands of followers.

Dmitry Beshentsev, 34, also known as Dima Vert, fell to his death after climbing a ladder on a building in the Russian capital Moscow on September 10.

The popular YouTuber, who specialised in filming abandoned buildings on his channel 'Beam of the Inquisition', was with his two friends when he died.

His friends had managed to climb to the roof of the building to take photographs but the fire ladder sadly gave way while Beshentsev was still on it.

His friends watched in horror as Beshentsev fell to the ground at the property which was first built in 1971.

The derelict building that he died in is opposite a former tram depot, which is now used to store buses, and was supposed to be under renovation but the work had been on hold for a long time.

In one of his last videos, Beshentsev was filmed taking a trip in a dinghy along one of Moscow’s water-filled abandoned tunnels.

His 80,000 followers were left stunned by the young man’s death, with YouTube user ‘Polishchikukor' commenting: "You will always be remembered, my friend. We all miss you very much. The world is not fair.”

Netizen ‘Annabernekiv89' wrote: “Rest in peace. We will miss you. I just can't believe it. There are no words.”

It is unclear whether the local authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
