  • The bees position themselves on either side of the bottle and push the cap off

Give us a hand, honey… two busy bees unscrew a fizzy drink bottle together.

In a video, they slowly turn the lid before popping it off and getting to the Fanta inside.

The recording from São Paulo, Brazil, was viewed by millions on Twitter.

One viewer said: ‘Who needs a bottle opener when you can get two bees to do it for you?’

According to research published in 2016, bees learn to solve problems by watching each other.

In the first study of its kind, scientists challenged bees to pull strings in order to access nectar.

Scientists observed that bees then taught each other how to approach puzzles, with bees who had not encountered a problem watching a ‘trainer bee’ who had already figured it out.

They published their findings in the PLOS Biology journal, concluding that knowledge was shown to spread from bee to bee throughout a colony.
