What you can win with just two numbers on the EuroMillions draw

For many of us, winning EuroMillions is the ultimate dream and while the changes of winning are slim, it rarely stops Brits from trying their lottery luck.

There are between 80 to 100 million people purchasing tickets, and so the odds of winning the lottery grand prize is very small.

Almost infinitely small, in fact. People only have a 1 in 139,838,160 chance of winning the very top prize.

There are some tips out there for reducing those odds slightly, like spreading your numbers out across the board and buying multiple tickets.

But the chances are, you aren't going to be riding a solid gold jet ski on Lake Como any time soon.

So what are the smaller EuroMillions prizes and when can you find out if you're a winner?

Do you get anything for two numbers in the EuroMillions?

You might not win the grand prize for the EuroMillions jackpot, but plenty of other smaller prizes are up for grabs for getting just two numbers matched in the draw.

A standard EuroMillions ticket costs just £2.50 and you can win back your fee with two numbers. You have a one in 22 chance of this happening.

According to figures released by Lottery.co.uk, the most this has happened for a game was 4,598,171 times and the least is 488,245.

Two main numbers and one lucky star will win you £3.60, while two main numbers plus two lucky stars will bag you enough for a couple of pints with winnings at £9.10.

When are the EuroMillions lottery draws held?

EuroMillions draw days are held every Tuesday and Friday. If you are playing on a draw day, you must buy your ticket before 7:30pm.

To play, you just need to pick five numbers, from one to 50, and two lucky stars from one to 12. EuroMillions give you the option of selecting a lucky dip option, if you don't wish to dither over which numbers to pick.

EuroMillions say you can play up to seven lines of numbers and buy up to 10 play slips at a time.

For every ticket you buy, you are also automatically entered into the UK Millionaire Maker game with a guaranteed £1 million UK winner in every draw.
