WILLIAM and Kate have shared a touching new photograph to celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are pictured with their arms around each other during a bike ride as they mark their anniversary "privately" a week before the King's coronation.

Royal photographer Matt Porteous, who has been drafted in a number of times for the family's official pictures, was credited for the snap.

The couple captioned the image with a love heart and simply "12 years."

Kate looks stunning in a white blouse and casual blue jeans, with a brown bag slung across her chest.

William echoes the casual ensemble in a navy shirt and jeans as the couple beam into the camera while perched on two bicycles.

The image appears to be from the same set of snaps taken by Mr Porteous during a family shoot in Norfolk last year.

Kensington Palace previously shared a family portrait showing Kate Middleton sitting in a tree with her children Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven and Prince Louis, five.

Royal fans were quick to congratulate the couple, who married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.
