EXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: Thriller Die Alone<\/em>, starring Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix<\/em> franchise), Douglas Smith (Big Little Lies<\/em>), Frank Grillo (Captain America<\/em>) and Kimberly-Sue Murray (V Wars<\/em>), has switched international sales companies from Archstone — which launched the project in Cannes — to Myriad Pictures.<\/p>\n

The Minds Eye Entertainment production recently wrapped production in Saskatchewan. Above is a first look at Moss in the movie, which has already quietly sold to Quiver for U.S. right and Filmoption for Canada.<\/p>\n

Canada native Moss, best known for playing Trinity in The Matrix<\/em> franchise, will be seen next year in Star Wars spinoff series The Acolyte<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Lowell Dean’s feature Die Alone<\/em> follows Ethan (Douglas Smith), a young man with amnesia who wakes to discover that humanity has destroyed the earth and nature is reclaiming itself with moss-covered roaming dead. In this nightmarish post-apocalyptic future, Ethan clings to one purpose, finding his girlfriend Emma (Kimberly-Sue Murray). He soon finds himself in the crosshairs of Mae (Carrie-Anne Moss), a tenacious and eccentric survivalist. Unable to rely on his own fragmented memories, Ethan forms an uneasy alliance with Mae. Under constant attack from the moss-covered ‘reclaimed’, Ethan also crosses paths with Kai (Frank Grillo), a mysterious figure who may hold the secret to his fractured memories.<\/p>\n

The producers made the decision to switch between international sales companies.<\/p>\n

Kevin DeWalt, Danielle Masters and Benjamin DeWalt from Minds Eye Entertainment are producers on Die Alone<\/em>. Kirk D’Amico, Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman, Larry Greenberg, Maryse Rouillard, Isabelle Legault, Evangelo Kioussis, Simon Baxter, Crispin Comonte, Eric Gozlan, Peter Salvage, Isabella Marchese Ragona are executive producers. Dean is best known for horror-comedy Wolfcop<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“We are very excited to bring this extraordinary film to international buyers,” said Myriad’s Kirk D’Amico. “Lowell Dean’s vision of a dystopian future is both surprising and compelling. The performances from the cast are to turn a phrase really “bad ass”. Fans of unique and elevated genre films are going to go crazy over this one!”<\/p>\n

Partners on the project include Telefilm Canada, Creative Saskatchewan Feature Film & Television Production Grant Program, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, the Saskatchewan Media Production Industry Association (SMPIA) Work Experience Training Program and Richmond Pictures.<\/p>\n
