The mistake was quickly rectified, and they broadcast a clip of Paul as Lily Savage, with Ed commenting: \u201cThere he is. Phew.\u201d<\/p>\n
The NTAs aired a special tribute to Paul during the show as host Joel Dommett took a moment to celebrate the star’s life.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cNow, before we go on, here at the National Television Awards we wanted to remember someone very special.<\/p>\n

He continued: “nominated an astonishing 28 times for an NTA, his first nearly 30 years ago.<\/p>\n “His career came in many guises, but no matter what he did there was always kindness, coupled with a unique sense of fun that won over audiences in an instant.<\/p>\n An emotional tribute clip was then aired showing highlights from Paul’s long-running career.<\/p>\n Paul died suddenly at his Kent home on March 28 at the age of 67.
