{"id":85152,"date":"2023-09-07T04:19:12","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T04:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebritytidings.com\/?p=85152"},"modified":"2023-09-07T04:19:12","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T04:19:12","slug":"my-dream-trip-to-albania-was-traumatic-heres-what-you-should-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebritytidings.com\/lifestyle\/my-dream-trip-to-albania-was-traumatic-heres-what-you-should-know\/","title":{"rendered":"My dream trip to Albania was traumatic: Here&apos;s what you should know"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>I went on a &#8216;dream&#8217; trip to Albania and these are the grim things I wish I knew before I arrived: &#8216;Truly traumatic&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Anna Shatilova descrobes &#8216;traumatic&#8217; trip to the Balkans<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0\u00a0I visited Egypt for a &#8216;dream&#8217; holiday and it turned out to be the worst trip ever: &#8216;I&#8217;ve never felt so uncomfortable&#8217;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A young woman has described her &#8216;dream trip&#8217; to Albania, Italy and Greece as &#8216;chaotic&#8217; and &#8216;traumatic&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anna Shatilova from Sydney admitted she was mentally unprepared as a solo traveller as she recapped her first month abroad in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The young woman made a list of the &#8216;chaotic AF things that altered her brain chemistry&#8217; as she travelled through Albania and landed in Italy.<\/p>\n<p>The first picture shows a very crowded mini bus in Albania, filled with young travellers.<\/p>\n<p>The second shows a very unimpressed Anna standing above a grimy squat toilet which set her back two Euros or $3.30 to use.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/07\/04\/75151015-12489637-Anna_was_socked_to_pay_equivalent_to_3_30AUD_to_use_this_toilet-a-6_1694056524850.jpg\" height=\"847\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Anna was socked to pay equivalent to $3.30AUD to use this toilet<\/p>\n<p>And in the third she showed off her bunk bed in Hvar.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Literally two beds stacked on one another,&#8217; she wrote, on top of a picture of the mismatched legs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was too scared to move and I was on the top bunk, imagine how the guy below me felt,&#8217; she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The young woman showed off photos of mosquito bites, and one mystery bug bite which saw her leg swell up &#8216;the size of a balloon&#8217; overnight.<\/p>\n<p>In the post she also shared a few more pictures of horror bus rides &#8211; labelling them &#8216;truly traumatic experiences&#8217;. One showed a driver on the phone as he steered the bus with his elbow through a tunnel, while another involved a bus speeding down a highway with the door open.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She also complained about the lack of aircon on buses and shared a picture which showed her sweating through her clothes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;That&#8217;s why they keep the door open, because there&#8217;s no aircon,&#8217; one woman commented on the post.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/07\/04\/75151025-12489637-She_was_also_traumatised_by_the_state_of_bus_travel_in_the_Balka-a-5_1694056524837.jpg\" height=\"848\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>She was also traumatised by the state of bus travel in the Balkans<\/p>\n<p>And she agreed. &#8216;Yep, driver said &#8220;nice breeze&#8221;.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite the negative post the young woman said she wouldn&#8217;t have had the first month of her solo travel adventure any other way.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Best month of my life, here&#8217;s to many more months of chaotic travel adventures,&#8217; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The grim slideshow also showed off some questionable accommodation in Italy and Greece &#8211; at one hostel she had to share a couple&#8217;s room because they had overbooked.<\/p>\n<p>She was also disturbed to find the &#8216;women only&#8217; hostel she booked in Corfu was run by an old man.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/07\/04\/75151013-12489637-Anna_bought_a_one_way_ticket_to_Europe_after_a_tough_few_years_a-a-3_1694056524834.jpg\" height=\"795\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Anna bought a one-way ticket to Europe after a tough few years and plans to travel for 12 months<\/p>\n<p>In another picture her friend chose to use a hair tie around her bread roll to stop it coming apart while she ate.<\/p>\n<p>Most people who commented on the video encouraged the young woman to keep travelling despite some of the uncomfortable moments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have have travelled too and love that you had those experiences. Your mind is open, changed for the better. Keep on exploring,&#8217; one woman said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The true Balkan experience,&#8217; said anther.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Others criticised her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You get what you pay for,&#8217; one said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Sounds absolutely miserable,&#8217; said another.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;These videos make me not want to go to Europe,&#8217; a third man chimed in.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Anna said she would head back to the Balkans &#8216;in a heartbeat&#8217;
