Princess Alexia of the Netherlands proved she has inherited her mother Queen M\u00e1xima’s fashion prowess as she carried out her first solo engagement today.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old royal,\u00a0who is second in line to the Dutch throne\u00a0behind her sister Princess\u00a0Catharina-Amalia, christened the Vox Alexia, a ship by Dutch manufacture Van Oord, in Rotterdam.<\/p>\n
It marked Alexia’s first engagement without her parents, Queen M\u00e1xima, 52, and King Willem-Alexander, 56, or her two sisters,\u00a0Catharina-Amalia, 19, and\u00a0Princess Ariane,\u00a016.<\/p>\n
But rather than shy away from the spotlight, the princess looked poised and professional throughout the solo event.<\/p>\n
She opted for an elegant navy midi dress, featuring cut-out details on the shoulders, a billowing skirt and white and blue ruffles along the long sleeves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Looking typically stylish, Alexia teamed her garment with strappy cream heels, while wearing statement drop earrings.<\/p>\n
She completed her look with a smattering of glamorous makeup and kept her hair in a chic up-do.<\/p>\n
Following the christening, Alexia will be given a tour of the ship and chat to the crew, as well as speak to members of\u00a0the Young Van Oord association, reported Hola!.<\/p>\n
Alexia graduated from UWC Atlantic College in South Wales in May this year, with her parents travelling to the prestigious school to celebrate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The school is often referred to as ‘Hippie Hogwarts’ thanks to its progressive approach to education and picturesque castle setting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The college is for pupils aged 16 to 19 years of age and students from all over the world, 150 countries to be exact, live and study together.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The college is based at\u00a0St Donat\u2019s Castle, south Wales in a 12th century castle set in 122 acres of woodland and farmland\u00a0with its own valley and seafront.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It was founded by German educationalist Kurt Hahn and is situated at the 12th century St Donat’s Castle on the country’s south coast.<\/p>\n
It costs a whopping \u00a367,000 per year for courses including Tai Chi, the theory of knowledge and Tibetan literature.\u00a0<\/p>\n
