A MUM has revealed she was told her 11-year-old daughter wasn't allowed to wear posh Vivienne Westwood shoes to school.

The incident, parent Whitney Ainscough revealed, left her ''fuming'', as she took to TikTok to share the story.

According to the mum, from South Yorkshire, she had forked out an eye-watering £100 for black flats by the legendary late British designer Vivenne Westwood.

The ballerinas, complete with the iconic badge on the front, had been purchased for her 11-year-old daughter, who proudly styled them for her first day at school.

Unfortunately, much to Whitney's surprise, the joys of the new footwear didn't last long, as she was informed by the school the flats weren't an appropriate choice for classes.

''I got a phone call saying that the shoes she has are not within the policy.

''So I've spent 3100 on some shoes she cannot wear. Quite a bit of fuming.

''It's only a pair of f*****g Vivenne Westwoods – what's the problem?''

Whitney went on to add that the school also advised her to find an alternative – but the situation had baffled her either way.

''I mean, I'd understand if she was affecting the learning – but it doesn't,'' the mum said in her video, adding it was ''absolutely ridiculous''.

Each to their own. You can spend £10 on shoes, you can pay £100 on shoes – but that's the choice I made.''

But despite being fuming by the argument with the daughter's school, the situation sparked quite the debate online, where not everyone agreed with Whitney.

One reckoned: ''Not really school shoes are they!''

Someone else chimed in: ''I think the real crime here is that a pair of flat ballet pumps with an unsightly metal logo on cost 100 pound.''

''It’s not ridiculous, the shoes in nearly every single school need to be plain with no logos,'' a third penned.

''Nice shoes! School uniform rules are absolutely ridiculous these days!'' a TikTok user wrote.

The South Yorkshire-based parent is a proud stay-at-home mum who is "living her best life" and refuses to get a job to stay on benefits.

In on video she claimed to choose to be unemployed after receiving a huge sum of £1,151.90 per week in Universal Credit.

"Can somebody please tell me why I'd ever get a job when this is my weekly universal credits that I get.

"I mean, why would I get a job? I get your monthly wage in a week so why would I put myself out and get a job?

"I mean I'm living my f****** best life, f****** hell."

Harry cheers on Invictus Games athletes in Germany – but still without Meghan
