IT\u2019S a go-to restaurant for many people in need of a chicken fix \u2013 but one foodie has revealed that she no longer joins the queue at Nando\u2019s.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Instead, the lady named Becs said she has perfected making her own replica dish in the air fryer \u2013 and that the results are just as good.<\/p>\n

Becs, who runs a foodie TikTok account called @becs.bites, unveiled her fail safe recipe on the social media platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And she promised fellow Nando\u2019s lovers that they were in for a treat, as she described the peri-peri chicken as the \u201cjuiciest\u201d she\u2019d had.<\/p>\n
And you only need around half an hour to prep and cook, which is just as good as being in the restaurant yourself.<\/p>\n
Lifting the lid on her failsafe step by step guide, Becs explained: \u201cSimply hasselback some chicken breasts \u2013 I usually find 4-5 cuts is enough – and sprinkle over your @Nando\u2019s UK & Ireland seasoning of choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once the chicken is prepared and the spices rubbed into the meat, she continued: \u201cAdd in some pieces of halloumi into each slit.<\/p>\n
\u201cI used about 50g here and I like to use a light halloumi- you only need half a slice per slit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Becs then shared how she ensures the halloumi is a main component of the dish but cutting to be half the length but maintaining its thickness.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cThen mix 2 tsp Nandos sauce of your choice and 2 tsp honey (per breast).\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/picture>DRINK TO THAT <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>FLASH THE CASH <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>AISLE BE <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/picture>CHEAP TRICK <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYou can probably do this without the honey in this one, but I do find it helps it all stick, and adds a lovely sweetness too!\u201d<\/p>\n Becs encouraged her 70.9k followers to \u201cbrush this all over the chicken and halloumi, getting right in the cracks\u201d to ensure full flavour.<\/p>\n After that, the chicken is ready to be cooked \u2013 which is where the air fryer comes in.\u00a0<\/p>\n The foodie said: \u201cAir fry for around 18-22 mins at 180 (will depend on how thick your breasts are.\u201d<\/p>\n Then as soon as the timer goes off, and you\u2019ve checked the chicken is thoroughly cooked and white through, it\u2019s time to tuck in.<\/p>\n And the result? Becs revealed: \u201cYou get the JUICIEST chicken! And lovely crispy halloumi.\u201d<\/p>\n There\u2019s then plenty of different ways to dish up your chicken, including popping it into a wrap or pitta, if that\u2019s your chosen meal in the restaurant.<\/p>\n But Becs said she\u2019d opted to serve hers alongside some griddled tender stem, and homemade Nandos style fries, which she\u2019d also cooked in the air fryer.\u00a0<\/p>\n And one of the best parts of the whole recipe is that it is low-calorie.\u00a0<\/p>\n Becs said: \u201cThe chicken is approx 313 cals \/ 52g protein and the whole meal (with broccoli and fries) is approx 470 cals \/ 57g protein.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The fakeaway idea immediately got the thumbs up from many on social media.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lots of people said they couldn\u2019t wait to make it themselves, while others described it as \u201cbanging\u201d and \u201csoooo good.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Fabulous will pay for your exclusive stories.
