A "devious and dishonest" woman who threatened to report a man for rape unless he paid her \u00a35,000 after they had consensual sex has been jailed.<\/p>\n

Tahereh Ghorbanlou, 34, matched with the bloke on a dating app in March 2021 before meeting at his home in Nottingham and having consensual sex after a few drinks.<\/p>\n

Then Ghorbanlou made a strange remark, saying the man would have to pay for sex next time, Nottingham Crown Court heard. He dismissed it as a joke and they parted on "good terms".<\/p>\n

However, over the following days she sent him messages trying to extort cash from him.<\/p>\n

She claimed she was injured and in pain and he would be fined \u00a330,000 if a sexual offence allegation was reported to police.<\/p>\n

Ghorbanlou then sent him her bank details demanding he transferred \u00a35,000 or she would go to police and accuse him of "sexual violence".<\/p>\n

The victim immediately reported the threats to officers and an investigation into her fake rape scam was launched.<\/p>\n

Ghorbanlou was arrested and told officers she was the victim of sexual violence \u2013 but refused to provide any written statement or sign the comments she had made.<\/p>\n

After being bailed, she contacted police again on March 20, 2021, to make a counter-allegation of rape against the man.<\/p>\n
