AMANDA Holden has suffered her "worst nightmare" after missing a flight to Italy to see Alan Carr, all because she picked up the wrong passport.<\/p>\n

BGT judge Amanda, 52, revealed her gaffe on Heart FM this morning while speaking on a FaceTime call with Jamie Theakston and her cover host, Zoe Hardman.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

She'd been due to film the second series of her BBC DIY show, Amanda and Alan's Italian Job.<\/p>\n

But it when when she arrived at London City Airport that the actress realised she'd brought her husband\u00a0Chris Hughes' passport instead.<\/p>\n

Having successfully made her way to her destination, she explained how it all went down during the Breakfast show today.<\/p>\n

Zoe told listeners: "Now listen, someone\u2019s just dropped us a text Sam 'Where is Amanda off to?' I passed her yesterday at\u00a0Gatwick\u00a0Airport on return from\u00a0Spain, she was looking very glamorous!'"<\/p>\n

Amanda jumped in: "Oh! Well I wasn\u2019t supposed to be at Gatwick yesterday, I was supposed to be at City Airport\u2026 I got to City Airport and I opened my passport and it was my husband Chris\u2019 passport!<\/p>\n

"It was my worst nightmare, my poor friend who was with me, he had to carry on to Italy, and then I had to get into a taxi, I mean shout out to a lady called Georgie Hicks who just helped me all the way she could yesterday to get me onto that plane.<\/p>\n

"I had someone go and get my passport on a motorbike, and it got to me when the plane had taken off, so then I got to Gatwick and then eventually I got to Italy in the afternoon!"<\/p>\n

Jamie replied: "Goodness me, that\u2019s the sort of stress that gives me goosebumps."<\/p>\n

Amanda continued: "But do you know what? Honestly Jamie, before I left the house yesterday, I had all my stuff with me in the studio, my husband said, 'You got the right passport?' and I went, 'Do you know what, stop treating me like one of the children!'<\/p>\n

"To ring him up and say, 'You won\u2019t believe it, I\u2019ve got your passport' and he text me on later in the day, 'Can I still talk to you like you\u2019re one of the children.'<\/p>\n

"I just wanted to kill him that he was right!"<\/p>\n

Back in May, The Sun revealed Amanda and Alan had landed a second series of their TV show.<\/p>\n

The eight-part series was one of the highest rating factual entertainment shows of this year.<\/p>\n

The pair left audiences in stitches of laughter as they renovated a crumbling Sicilian holiday home while getting to grips with power tools and drinking aperol spritz.<\/p>\n
