An influencer police officer has found herself in trouble as repercussions caught up with her months after sharing footage of herself in uniform.

The clip, which was originally shared back in January but is currently a hot topic of debate, shows Alba Mattos in full uniform, complete with assault rifle. In the short video, she posed in front of a police car as she proudly showed off her new attire to the tune of Numb/ Encore by Jay-Z and Linkin Park.

At the time, she asked her followers: "Do you like the new uniform? Leave ur comment." She also explained that PMBA Uniform Regulation Standing Review Committee "considered economy, functionality, modernization and respect for institutional values as driving forces for the improved uniform".

Alba, who is assigned to the 15th Battalion of the Military Police of Itabuna, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, was later reported for violating police conduct rules months after sharing the video online.

The young woman, who has over 52,000 followers on Instagram, often posts messages encouraging women to pursue military careers and motivational clips.

But earlier this week, on 19th September, she said she was surprised after being informed that the footage she posted went against the force's code of conduct – eight months after it was originally posted.

However, she appeared to have a new influx of followers and commenters supporting her after she appeared on Brazillian TV to talk about the punishment that she could be facing, which is unclear at this time.

One Instagram user said: "I'm watching it now on TV, I started following it." Another added: "Who started following after going on TV?"

Her followers quickly pointed out that many male officers face no such action despite posting images of themselves in uniform.

One poster wrote: "So many men do it and no one has ever been bothered, right? All it takes is a beautiful, intelligent being and to make you uncomfortable… Hypocrisy, isn't it? Slick and powerful."

"She became more beautiful," another commented. Someone else wrote: "Perfect, congratulations warrior, beautiful and wonderful."

Mattos has since said: "Due to the great repercussion it had, and even without it having been reported formally or informally, I have already contacted my legal adviser."

For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.
