Highs of 23C (73F) are again forecast in the South East.<\/p>\n<p>The storm will then sweep in on Wednesday, although the day is expected to start mostly dry despite being overcast.<\/p>\n<p>The low pressure system will then bring heavy rain and possible thunder, persisting for the rest of the day. Some roads and bridges are likely to close.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties; with a chance of some minor flooding of coastal roads.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>FURTHER DETAILS\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A deep area of low pressure is expected to approach southwest Ireland early on Wednesday, and track across northern parts of the UK before clearing early Thursday. There is some uncertainty on the precise track and depth of the low, however the most likely outcome at present is for a wide swathe of 50 to 60 mph gusts to affect inland areas, perhaps locally stronger over and to the lee of hills in the north. Some Irish Sea coasts could see gusts of 65 to 75 mph, with a small chance of 80 mph gusts on the most exposed coasts and headlands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Met Office warning stated that there is a &#8216;small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a &#8216;slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It added: &#8216;There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Longer journey times are likely, or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. Some roads and bridges are likely to close.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties; with a chance of some minor flooding of coastal roads.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>While the storm has not yet officially been named &#8216;Agnes&#8217; by the Met Office, two senior BBC forecasters have speculated that this could happen.<\/p>\n<p>Simon King, lead BBC weather presenter and meteorologist on Radio 5 Live and Radio 4&#8217;s Today programme, said on X: &#8216;Keep your eye on the forecast for Wednesday this week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This has got our first named storm of the season &#8211; Agnes &#8211; written all over it. Intensity, timings and warnings still to be firmed up.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>BBC senior weather presenter Barra Best also said: &#8216;Prepare for some very stormy weather reaching Ireland and the UK on Wednesday. Likely disruption and damage.
