DEPRAVED Jimmy Savile's nephew has told how he still has nightmares over not being able to stop the TV star's horrific abuse.

Guy Marsden has opened up about his life with his twisted uncle – including how he uncovered his sickening crimes.

The 69-year-old revealed he knew "all those years ago" what Savile was doing but when he tried to tell the authorities, they ignored him due to the TV star's fame.

Guy said: "Growing up I tried to tell the authorities but everyone turned a blind eye because Uncle Jimmy was the BBC golden boy and was Mr Untouchable.

“I still can’t sleep at night and have nightmares knowing that if maybe I had spoken up more I could have saved hundreds of young lives from being ruined by this evil monster.

“You can’t just erase things like that from your mind as if they didn’t happen."

Guy, from Leeds, said he attended parties held by his uncle when he ran away to London as a youngster.

He told how Savile would show up with a group of young children but Guy was too young to understand what the problem was at the time.

It was only when he moved in with the BBC presenter that the "penny started to drop", Guy said.

Guy has spoken out ahead of BBC drama The Reckoning, which stars Steve Coogan as the monster.

He confirmed he won't be watching the show, which airs tonight, after previously slamming the broadcaster for "glorifying" Savile's crimes.

Guy said: "It’s just entertainment for entertainment’s sake and will just bring all the old bad memories back.

“I want to live my life in peace not be reminded of the past.

“Yes, Uncle Jimmy was family and perhaps that was why I escaped being abused myself but I can’t stop thinking about those that were not so lucky.”

After Savile's death, in October 2011 aged 84, sickening tales of abuse spanning decades began to emerge.

More than 1,000 people came forward claiming they were abused by the fiend – making him one of Britain worst ever sex offenders.

But during his glittering career on TV, his sick abuse was kept under wraps – allowing him to embark on a reign of terror spanning 50 years.

His roles as a popular DJ and TV presenter on Top of the Pops and Jim'll Fix It afforded the predator the opportunity to cherrypick his victims.

Savile also raised an estimated £40 million for charities during his career and was knighted in 1990, making him untouchable.

In 2012, Savile was first exposed as a paedophile and Operation Yewtree was launched after a fresh flood of allegations were made.

The following year, a joint Scotland Yard and NSPCC report branded him one of the UK’s most prolific known sexual predators.
