BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent was forced to cut off a live interview as a war reporter rushed to safety.

Sally and co-host Jon Kay were once again reporting on the conflict in Israel and Gaza after Hamas terrorists attacked the country at the weekend.

Hundreds of people have been killed on both sides and just after 7am, Sally spoke to Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet who was reporting live from Ashkelon, just three miles away from Gaza.

Lyse was discussing what had been happening in the last few hours when she suddenly looked to the side of a camera after hearing a male voice and then said: "Sorry, I think we're being told….I'm going to keep recording."

She then moved towards the camera and said: "I think once we can get the camera off here perhaps we can keep reporting, we're going to move a little bit safe away."

As the cameraman tried to steady the camera they moved away from where they had been stood and Lyse pointed back to the horizon and said: "We can see the black smoke rising there and we've been told there could be some mortars landing in this area so as a precaution so we're just going to move a little bit away so we're in a safer area.
