HIGH STREET make-up has come a long way in the last few years.

With more hard working, affordable options available than ever before, I was sceptical about H&M's new make-up range but *spoiler alert* it's brilliant.

As a beauty editor, I test lots of make-up for a living, and H&M Beauty's new make-up range is up there with the best.

Made in collaboration with the brand's first ever global make-up artist Raoúl Alejandre, who's best known for creating the iconic red-carpet looks of celebs like Angelina Jolie, FKA Twigs and Zendaya (he once spent four hours painting her face for an event), everything in the range costs less than £12.99

Despite the price tag, it's anything but cheap.

In fact, the luxe packaging feels like it should cost three times the price, with magnetic closures and sleek metallic accents alongside the clashing pink and red signature hues.

The range has something for everyone – from make-up brushes to mascaras (yes, there's 4 in the new drop), multitasking sticks and bargain brow products.

If you're not sure where to start, I was one of the first people to try the new collection, and these are my favourite products…

H&M Beauty Brow Specialist Eyebrow Pencil, £4.99

Coming in at under £5, it's the cheapest product in the range, but you'd never know it.

Being a proper pencil rather than a crayon you wind up means it takes slightly more pressure than some of the other options on the market, but once you get used to that the colour pay-off rivals eyebrow pencils more than five times the price.

I love that it has a spoolie on the other end and that you can sharpen it before every use to get thin, hair-like strokes. I also find it stays put all day long, which can be a problem as I have oily skin.

H&M Do-it-all stick, £8.99

I'm a sucker for a multi-tasking cream make-up stick, so before I'd even tried this I knew I was going to love it.

There are two finishes; a shimmer that comes in four shades perfect for highlighting the high points of your face, and a matte blush that's available in six pink hues.

I made a beeline for the blush in Flaming Flamingo – a true Barbie pink and it was love at first swipe.

The formula is creamy enough that you can easily blend it into skin, but once it sets in place it doesn't budge.

It's also far more pigmented than I'd expect for a product under £10, so a little goes a really long way and the stick will last for ages.

I'm such a huge fan that it's ousted my usual £44 blush stick and I don't see myself reverting back any time soon.

H&M Beauty Pressed Powder Bronzer, £9.99

If I had to pick just one product to take home from the whole range, it would be this bronzer.

Typically, it's hard to find a true matte bronzer on the high street, but this comes in an impressive six shades, so there should be one to suit all skin tones.

The formula is buttery soft and doesn't look patchy over cream or powder products underneath.

Plus, if you prefer a radiant bronzer, the same shades are available in a shimmer finish too.

H&M Beauty Never Ending Mascara, £8.99

Continuing the theme of creating something for everyone, the brand has launched not one but four mascaras – Volume Icon, Max Drama, Forever Curled and my favourite Never Ending.

It does as the title suggests, and creates long, separated, lashes that rival falsies without any of the fuss when it comes to application.

The brush is tapered, so it's easy to catch the lashes in the inner corner of my eye without getting mascara on my nose and making a mess.

I already know it's going to be my go-to mascara all party season.

H&M Beauty Satin Lipstick, £9.99

I normally shy away from brightly coloured lipstick, but the shade Drop Red Gorgeous might have changed that.

It's a versatile, suits everyone shade that doesn't make teeth look yellow or highlight imperfections elsewhere on my face.

The satin formula is also comfortable enough to wear all day but doesn't find its way onto my teeth or bleed from my lip line.

As it's so creamy, it does need reapplying throughout the day, but it doesn't get cakey or crack in my lip lines.

Don't worry, if you're not a fan of bright colours it comes in a total of 36 shades spanning more neutral pink, brown and peach.

</picture>SKIN WHIZZ
