Two little girls have been orphaned after their mother was killed in a suspected domestic violence attack in Bendigo on the weekend, three years after their father was fatally hit by a car.<\/p>\n
Logee Osias, 46, died after sustaining serious injuries during an attack at her home in Kangaroo Flat on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Logee Osias died after an incident inside a home in Bendigo on the weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n Police located a blood-stained knife in the backyard of the family home. A 44-year-old man from Junortoun, in Bendigo, was arrested at a nearby reservoir and taken to hospital for treatment on Monday.<\/p>\n Osias\u2019 two primary school-aged daughters were at home at the time of the alleged attack.<\/p>\n The girls\u2019 father, Timothy Dorrough, died when he was struck by a vehicle after getting out of a taxi on the Calder Highway, near Kangaroo Flat, during a dispute over the fare in May 2020.<\/p>\n Osias was believed to have been separated from Dorrough at the time he was killed. <\/p>\n As well as her two young daughters, the Bendigo woman leaves behind two adult children, believed to be from a previous relationship.<\/p>\n Members of Bendigo\u2019s Filipino community have remembered Osias as a wonderful woman whose life revolved around her two little girls.<\/p>\n Osias was a much-loved member of the Bendigo Filipino Foundation, having been involved with the group for about 10 years.<\/p>\n Member Maria Gillies said the aged care facility worker was always smiling and happy.<\/p>\n She said Osias always had plenty of offers for babysitters for the girls.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a whole lot of people [that would] help her out when she\u2019s going to work, babysit her little ones because she\u2019s just so friendly,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Gillies said the Filipino community had rallied behind the family after the death of Dorrough in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve seen how her kids have grown up when she\u2019s come to us,\u201d Gillies said. \u201cIt\u2019s really tragic.\u201d<\/p>\n Gillies said Osias and her two girls had attended a camping trip with the Filipino community in central Victoria last month.<\/p>\n \u201cThose girls love camping. They used to love camping with their dad, [who] they still miss,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI even offered them my tent which [I was] not using because I was planning to go home late [at] night. That was my last conversation with Logee.\u201d<\/p>\n The Bendigo Filipino Foundation will pay tribute to the Bendigo mum during a prayer vigil at Saint Joseph\u2019s Catholic Church on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n Gillies said the community was invited to attend a prayer vigil for Osias after a mass at the church at 6pm.<\/p>\n Police arrested the 44-year-old man several hours after Osias was found dead following a helicopter search of the area. No charges had been laid on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
