<\/p>\nOpening her Excel spreadsheet Whitney Ainscough\u00a0checks the Christmas gift list she has made for each of her three children and partner.<\/p>\n
Her daughter Cora, 11, son Addison, six, and second daughter Adley,\u00a0 two, will be getting at least ten \u2018big\u2019 Christmas presents each\u00a0 as well as dozens of stocking fillers and pre- Christmas treats.<\/p>\n

But Whitney, 30, who has been surviving on benefits of just under \u00a31,200 a month for much of the past year isn\u2019t\u00a0 penny-pinching or bothered by the cost of living crisis.<\/p>\n
Despite being on Universal Credit until early September – when she started making enough as a TikTok influencer to declare an income – she will be spending a staggering \u00a310k on her family\u2019s presents.<\/p>\n
She knows it will irritate some people – especially since a lot of the case will have come from savings accrued through benefits – but doesn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don't care what the trolls\u00a0think,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m a benefits mum, living in a council house who's spending thousands on her kids for Christmas and I\u2019m proud.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am spoiling\u00a0my kids because they deserve it. My daughter wants a \u00a31.2k solid gold bracelet, my son wants a top-of-the-range VR gaming kit and the latest iPhone and iPad.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve saved my benefits. It\u2019s been a hard year. We deserve posh presents. I told the kids they can have whatever they want.\u201d<\/p>\n Whitney – who previously revealed how Cora was told off at school in her first week for wearing \u00a3100k Vivienne Westwood ballet flats instead of regulation shoes – said she might have \u2018Britain\u2019s most spoilt brood\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n And although she\u2019s not claiming benefits now, she didn\u2019t care that she had for most of the year. <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhy not?\u201d she said. \u201cI was legally entitled to. I worked in a chemist for many years and only stopped because the wraparound childcare costs after I had my youngest made it too expensive. I put in so it\u2019s fine to take out.\u201d<\/p>\n Whitney, who lives in a council house, said although she splashed the cash on her kids she didn\u2019t on herself. <\/p>\n \u201cI adore my kids and I am planning to spoil them rotten. But I don\u2019t feel the need to spend on myself, ironically. Seeing them happy on December 25 is all I need. I don\u2019t actually want lavish gifts.\u00a0<\/p>\n Answering questions she knows people will have, she said it wasn\u2019t a waste of cash to get a child a solid gold bracelet.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201dShe\u2019s been asking for it all year and I know it will be an investment for her,\u201d she said. \u201cShe loves fancy things and she\u2019s a good girl who is kind and polite.\u201d<\/p>\n She\u2019s also spoiling her with \u00a3160 Ugg Boots, designer clothes,\u00a0 a new laptop, perfume, makeup and a nose piercing.<\/strong><\/p>\n Already this year\u00a0Whitney bought Cora a \u00a3230 Michael Kors handbag instead of a backpack and \u00a3170 Adidas Pro trainers instead of run-of-the-mill trainers.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019ll also get more acrylic nails and hair extensions for the holidays,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Addison will get a Meta Quest 3 VR headset for \u00a3470.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHe will be getting a new \u00a3330 Nintendo\u00a0 Switch OLED too, as well as designer trainers and clothes\u201d<\/p>\n And Adley isn\u2019t missing out.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI am planning a two night stay at Peppa Pig World\u00a0 for her and it will be first class all the way,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ll probably get her a iPhone too."<\/p>\n \u201cI am budgeting around \u00a32k per child and that doesn't include their day trips.
