A 10-year-old boy was mercilessly killed by a monkey after it tore his intestines out in an attack that took place near a temple in India.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said the boy, who was identified as\u00a0Dipak Thakor, was killed by a ‘notorious gang’ of monkeys while he and his friends were playing near a temple in Salki, a small village in the western state of Gujarat, on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He and his friends were attacked, and a monkey managed to dig its claws into him, before killing him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Though he was taken to hospital, he tragically passed away before doctors were able to treat him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘His intestine was ripped out in the attack. He rushed to his house and was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival,’ an official told local media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New Delhi officials used cut-outs of langurs to scare away other monkeys when the city hosted the G20 summit in September<\/p>\n
The official added that this was the third attack by the monkey gang this week alone.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Forest official Vishal Chaudhary said he and his team have been trying to catch the killer animals for a while.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘We have rescued two langurs in the past one week, and set up cages to trap another langur,’ Chaudhary said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘There is a large troop of monkeys in the village, including four adults who have been involved in attacks in the past one week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Two of them have been rescued. Efforts are on to cage another.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
Langurs are not normally aggressive, though scientists have noted that all-male groups can become aggressive, as individual dominance is attained through aggression and mating success.\u00a0<\/p>\n
