CHRIS KAMARA has posted an incredible throwback picture on social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sky<\/span> Sports legend has become a massive fans' favourite during his decades as a player and broadcaster.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

Kamara, 65, began his long career as a 16-year-old at Portsmouth in the 1970s.<\/p>\n

Despite hailing from Middlesbrough<\/span>, Kammy found himself on the South Coast after joining the Royal Navy.<\/p>\n

Pompey spotted him playing for the Navy's football<\/span> team before promptly signing him up.<\/p>\n

Kamara released a new autobiography earlier this month, entitled "My Unbelievable Life".<\/p>\n

Advertising an upcoming book signing in Portsmouth, he uploaded a throwback snap<\/span> of himself as a 16-year-old proudly wearing his Pompey kit.<\/p>\n

Despite his tender years, Kamara already sported a handlebar moustache in the picture.<\/p>\n

Captioning his snap, Kammy joked: "From Shakey Wakey to Portsmouth this afternoon \ud83e\udd73<\/p>\n

"Pompey where my Football career began 49 years ago \ud83d\udc74\ud83c\udffd 16 but looking 36 \ud83e\udd23\ud83d\ude02 dodgy birth certificate \ud83d\ude02"<\/p>\n

Fans loved Kamara's snap, with one writing: "16? You\u2019re having a laugh."<\/p>\n

And a second asked: "Did you start shaving at 12?"<\/p>\n

A third joked: "If it\u2019s any consolation, you didn\u2019t age after this pic and stayed 36."<\/p>\n

While another added: "Hairstyle and stash currently on trend!"<\/p>\n

Kamara quit Sky Sports at the end of the 2021-22 season after 24 years with the broadcaster.<\/p>\n

He had become an iconic figure on Soccer Saturday alongside Jeff Stelling and Co.<\/p>\n

Prior to leaving Sky he was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, leaving him with a condition that affects his speech.<\/p>\n

He explained how he felt like a \u201cfraud\u201d following his apraxia of speech diagnosis<\/p>\n

In his new book Kamara opens up on his condition, writing: "I\u2019m going to admit something now, something I\u2019ve never mentioned before. It\u2019s hard for me to talk about, so bear with me.<\/p>\n

"I worried about where I was going to end up. Would my physical and neurological deterioration just keep going and going? And I worried more about the effect it would have on those around me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a man who has always wanted to help, to provide, to love and nurture those around me. And now I could only see myself as a burden. A shell<\/span> of the man I used to be that they would be left to look after."<\/p>\n
