The Repair Shop’s Julie Tatchell and Amanda Middleditch teamed up once again to fix a special teddy for one of their guests, but Julie initially had a “fear” for the restoration.<\/p>\n
Guest Aileen Neilson joined Jay Blades and the ladies in the barn with a cuddly canine companion that helped her rehabilitate after a major operation over 50 years ago.<\/p>\n
Barney, the push-along dog, got Aileen back on her feet when she was just two years old and recovering from a spinal operation.<\/p>\n
Despite being property of the hospital, the staff saw how fond Aileen became of him and how beneficial he was to her, gifting him to her when she left the hospital.<\/p>\n
She explained that Barney had continued to charm all the children in Aileen\u2019s extended family but could now do with some rehabilitation of his own.<\/p>\n
READ MORE <\/strong> Win a pair of tickets to The Coronation Street Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n It was up to Julie and Amanda to help his internal frame which was poking out of his body, the threadbare in some places, and replace his missing tail and one eye.<\/p>\n Taking him to their table to start their work, Julie admitted: “Initially I didn’t think he looked too bad, but actually there are a lot of areas we need to be lining.<\/p>\n “Aileen wanted a new tail, this isn’t an original nose but this eye is lovely and original but I fear we won’t be able to match it.”<\/p>\n Amanda agreed: “No, we will give him a pair so that they match nicely because we don’t want him to have a wonky expression.”<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> <\/p>\n
