Chevy Chase shocked fans when he fell off the stage during a National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Q&A in Buffalo, NY on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The actor, 80, who recently insisted he\u00a0was in ‘amazing’ health’, looked cheery as he attended the screening, with the star arriving onstage in a wheelchair before walking towards the crowd at\u00a0Shea’s Performing Arts Center.<\/p>\n
However, the actor stepped off the stage and fell to the ground – to gasps from the crowd.<\/p>\n
He was helped back up afterwards and seemed in good spirits, tipping his trademark baseball cap to relieved fans.<\/p>\n
This comes after\u00a0 Chase’s manager insisted the star is in ‘amazing’ health despite the National Lampoon actor sparking concern when\u00a0he was pictured in a wheelchair\u00a0while supporting his close friend Sylvester Stallone\u00a0at the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 actor, who is currently in the middle of his festive tour of the country, had travelled to Philadelphia on Sunday for the opening of Sylvester’s Rocky memorabilia shop.<\/p>\n
Chevy, who is famed for appearing in the National Lampoon’s comedy film franchise, was pictured in a wheelchair before getting to his feet to pose for pictures with his 77-year-old pal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fans feared for his health after the images emerged – but representatives for Chevy have since quashed any concerns for the actor, telling DailyMail.com that he is in good shape.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘His health is amazing and his tour, A Live Conversation With Chevy Chase, has been selling out across the country,’ they said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘He sometimes uses the chair due to all the airport travel – even at 80 years young.’<\/p>\n
They added: ‘He does not need rest. His tour is extensive during the holiday season.’<\/p>\n

The Q&A sessions, which kicked off in Chicago on November 26, follow special screenings of the beloved 1989 film, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, in which he played lead star Clark W. ‘Sparky’ Griswold Jr.<\/p>\n Chevy and his wife Jayni then share their behind-the-scenes stories from the set and take audience questions from fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n The six-date tour will see him on stage in New York, Minnesota and New Jersey, as well as Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n The tour comes three months after Chevy divulged about his time on the sitcom Community, in which he played the politically incorrect millionaire of Hawthorne Wipes CEO Pierce Hawthorne, admitting that he ‘felt happier being alone.’<\/p>\n Speaking on the WTF Podcast, he said that while he ‘didn’t mind [his] character,’ he ‘didn’t want to be surrounded by that table, every day, with those people.’<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Chevy is currently on tour across the US, giving special insight into his beloved film, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation\u00a0<\/p>\n He added: ‘It was too much. I honestly felt the show wasn’t funny enough for me, ultimately.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘I felt a little bit constrained. Everybody had their bits, and I thought they were all good. It just wasn’t hard hitting enough for me.’<\/p>\n Chevy was fired from the critically acclaimed NBC comedy 11 years ago for using the N-word in front of co-stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover.<\/p>\n
