Luke Humphries, born on February 11, 1995, in Newbury,\u00a0Berkshire is number three in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) world rankings.<\/p>\n
Although he\u2019s a major darts champion today, he was born into a\u00a0football-mad\u00a0family and his father named him Luke in honour of the club he supports \u2014 the letters of his name spelling out \u201cLeeds United\u00a0Kings of Europe\u201d.<\/p>\n
Despite playing as a teenager, Humphries only became a professional darts player after turning 21 \u2014 since playing more than 1,000 legs of darts per year on average.<\/p>\n
He reached the semi-finals of the World Match Play and the World Series of Darts Finals in 2023, and was the runner-up in the 2021 UK Open.\u00a0<\/p>\n
