THE best part about Boxing day are the leftovers from Christmas dinner – that's if you’re lucky enough to have anything left.

But a roast dinner never tastes the same when you microwave it the next day.

And what if the kids don’t like the traditional bubble & squeak?

Here is a Boxing day dinner the whole family might like.

It’s really simple and will get you out of cooking again after the big day.

In a two part clip shared on social media, the self confessed foodie Naveen Jaspal @whatnaveats reveals their genius twist on the traditional bubble & squeak dish.

All you’ll need is a medium to large casserole dish depending on how much food you have left over.

Naveen starts by lining the dish with leftover turkey.

Then the turkey is layered with roast potatoes that work best broken up into pieces.

Not only will this make the leftover potatoes spread further, but also ensure they soak up maximum flavour when you pop it in the oven.

Next Naveen reaches for the Christmas vegetables to build the next layer of this genius roast pie in the making.

In the event that the family finished all the gravy, there’s no harm in making some instant gravy to pour over the layers of this dish as seen in the clip.

Finally all you’ll need is some Jus Roll pastry to top this off effortlessly.

Just unroll the ready to cook pastry and line the top of your casserole dish and glaze it in egg yoke to ensure your pastry has a more-ish taste.

Pop it in the oven on 190 degrees for 30 minutes and voila – Roast dinner pie!

One commenter wrote: “I literally went and put all the leftovers in a dish and bought the pastry today and shared it with everyone I knew.”

While another chimed in saying: “This might happen after every Sunday dinner now that you have educated me. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, Sainsbury’s are praised for ‘making a Christmas dinner accessible to all’ as they reduce veg to just 19p a pack.

While another foodie cooked Christmas dinner for 6 from Aldi for £15 – it was delicious & you can’t tell it’s not from a posh supermarket.

</picture>MARKS MISTAKE
