Gogglebox’s new family: Everything you need to know about Elaine and Seb as they join show

In the latest episode of Gogglebox, viewers were introduced to two new cast members, Elaine and Seb, marking their debut on the beloved Channel 4 show.

Elaine and Seb, a mother-and-son duo hailing from the Forest of Dean, took their place on the famous couch for the very first time.

The audience wasted no time in expressing their approval, with one viewer taking to Twitter to say: "Liking them already, can't wait to see more of them on the show."

Another enthusiastic fan welcomed them to the Gogglebox family, while one praised their performance, stating, "They're doing a grand job."

During the episode, Elaine and Seb discussed his upcoming graduation and Elaine shared her thoughts on what she planned to wear for the big occasion.

Elaine and Seb's arrival followed the departure of Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig, who had been part of the show for a decade.

A statement released by Channel 4 and Studio Lambert last week, read: "After a brilliant and illustrious time on Gogglebox, Stephen and Daniel have decided that now is the right time to explore life beyond the sofa and leave the show.

"As one of the original Goggleboxers, Stephen has entertained the nation with his hilarious quips since the show first started in 2013, sharing his opinions on the best and biggest TV events of the last ten years.

"We would like to thank him and Daniel for being utterly brilliant contributors to the show, and we wish them well with their future projects."

Stephen also penned a statement, posting on Instagram: "After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox.

"We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities. We would like to thank both Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show. We are also extremely thankful to the cast and crew, or Gogglebox family as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all of your love and support over the years.”

The arrival of Elaine and Seb, as well as the exit of Stephen and Daniel, marks a shift in the Gogglebox line-up, with fan-favourite family the Baggs also hinting at an epic return on the Channel 4 series.

The Essex-based stars were on the show for three series until last year, and consisted of dad Terry, mum Lisa and sons Joe and George.

In an exclusive interview with OK!, the pair were asked if they'd consider ever returning for another round of telly-watching.

"Maybe one day," Joe teased. "I'd love to wouldn't you?"

"Never say never," George joked with a cheeky smirk, but Joe gave some more details.

"I would love to," the social media star said. "Not right now but maybe like a throwback. In 10 years."

"I'd say Christmas special but alright, 10 years will do, alright," George quipped back.
