McDonald's to axe six menu items within days including fan favourites as diners demand 'make them permanent' | The Sun

MCDONALD'S is axing six menu items but some diners are demanding they're made permanent.

It's all part of a huge shake-up that will see the fast food giant add seven new items to its offering at restaurants across the UK.

To make way for the new additions, six items are also being removed from the menu once the new offering drops on Wednesday, October 18.

The six items to be axed are:

  • Big Tasty – £5.89
  • Big Tasty with Bacon – £6.69
  • Mozzarella Dippers – £2.29
  • Cadbury Flake Raspberry McFlurry – £1.99
  • Cadbury Flake Chocolate McFlurry – £1.99
  • Caramel Waffle Latte – £2.69

But the removal of some of these fan favourites will leave some McDonald's fans angry.

Others have also questioned why the fast food chain doesn't make the Big Tasty permanent.

One person said: "McDonald's needs to make it a permanent burger on the menu man… it's way better than the Big Mac."

What seven new items are hitting the menu?

How can I save on my McDonald's order?

There are plenty of ways you can save on your next trip to McDonald's.

You should choose your branch wisely – menu prices can vary across different restaurants just a couple of miles apart.

We've seen Big Mac meals up to 30p cheaper before, which added up over the course of a year could save you a fair few pounds.

You can also get freebies on your birthday if you've got the My McDonald's app.

Remember to log your date of birth on the app though, otherwise, you'll miss out.

You can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 as well if you fill out the quick feedback survey following your last visit.

All you'll need is your receipt which should have been issued no more than 60 days after your visit.

A 12-digit code will be printed on the proof of purchase and then you can enter the McDonald's Food for Thought website to fill out a quick survey.
