I'm a student at 'UK's strictest school' – here's why kids were WRONG to jump over gates, scream & shout in protest | The Sun
A STUDENT at a UK school compared to "prison" has spoken out about pupils jumping over gates, shouting and protesting against "military" rules.
Outraged parents and students at Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA), Cornwall took action at the school gates on Wednesday.
The chaotic scenes escalated and Devon and Cornwall Police were even called to diffuse the situation.
It came after tensions reached boiling point amid pupils likening the school to a "prison" and claimed students were punished for yawning.
Now, a student who witnessed the drama unfold has shared their thoughts, as claimed by Cornwall Live.
"I'm a year 11 at Camborne school. Today was a lot to say the least," said the anonymous pupil.

"Students climbing over gates, running through corridors and running into classrooms and screaming and shouting, not to mention what was happening outside of school."
While the shocked pupil said they were not "against" the right to protest, they objected when "it's putting people in danger and gets out of hand".
They added: "It really isn't going to make a difference in school.
"There's a way of protesting and what happened today really wasn't the way of doing it.

"It was quite scary seeing the younger students beside themselves because of how scared they were and for students to feel unsafe to the point they are getting their parents to pick them up just doesn't seem right."
But, the anonymous pupil, as claimed by Cornwall Live, admitted they felt the school rules were "very frustrating" and the chaos has "disrupted" students "in the worst way possible".
It comes after parents slammed the academy for "harsh" rules, allegedly including penalising students for being just a few minutes late to class.
Fuming mums and dads also blasted Camborne Science and International Academy for a new punishment called 'Reflection', which is essentially isolation, and claimed students are being kept in it for days.
'MILITARY-STYLE'
Shouting at the school gates earlier this week, they claimed their kids were being forced to write lines out of a workbook in a "military-style" approach to misbehaviour.
This has left many children anxious to attend the school and distracted them from learning, according to pupils and parents.
Daily detentions are also handed out for wearing old trousers no longer deemed appropriate, asking to use the bathroom, not having clear pencil cases and even taking off blazers during the heatwave, claimed parents.
Some alleged their children were suspended for getting distracted or for simply resting their hands on a desk.
One even said their child was punished for yawning.
Parents are also concerned about its plans to join a multi-academy trust, Athena Learning Trust, which is known for it's strict regimes.
CSIA and its PR company have been contacted for comment as well as Devon and Cornwall Police.
It comes as other raging parents have blasted their kids' school over strict uniform policies.
