Alison Hammond breaks silence over NTAs loss –reflecting on failing in emotional post
Alison Hammond has broken her silence after losing out on the gong for Best Presenter at the NTAs.
The 48 year old This Morning presenter was nominated for the award, however, she ended up losing out to longtime winners, Ant & Dec at last night's show, Tuesday, 5 September.
Despite her loss, Alison was remaining positive the day after the awards, as she took to Instagram to share a snap which saw Holly Willoughby taking a selfie with Alison, This Morning doctor Zoe Williams, and others.
Alison captioned the post: "What a night of happiness at the @officialntas with @thismorning , we had the best time. Thanks so much for all your love support and votes and allowing us to be there. I’ll be honest it was so nice watching the whole show with @joeldommett in our seats.
"Sometimes failing can be your biggest success well done to @therepairshoptv and @antanddec, you all totally deserved the Win."
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly picked up the Best Presenter award for the 22nd year in a row.
The Saturday Night Takeaway presenting duo beat This Morning's Alison Hammond, The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman, The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh and Martin Lewis at the 2023 awards bash, continuing their winning streak.
Viewers watching the NTAs at home were left less than impressed by Ant and Dec's win however, with many saying it's "ridiculous" for the pair to win 22 times, and it's time for a new presenter to take home the award.
Many TV fans took to social media to express their disappoint, with one person tweeting: "Serious guys ! Can we PLEASE stop voting for Ant & Dec as best presenter cos this is ridiculous. There are much better presenters out there #NTA2023".
Meanwhile, This Morning was dealt a huge blow as it lost out on the Best Daytime Show award, for the first time in 13 years, after a tumultuous few months for the show.
Instead, The Repair Shop took home the award, and This Morning's main host Holly Willoughby graciously congratulated them on Wednesday's episode of the show.
Appearing alongside co-host Craig Doyle, Holly addressed the historic loss and congratulated The Repair Shop presenter Jay Blade.
Holly said: "A huge congratulations to The Repair Shop, well done you! Jay Blades, a lot of love to him, he ran over to us, gave us all a big cuddle, which I thought was just such class and gorgeous. I actually didn't want to let go, good hugs, Jay Blades!"
She added: "A massive thank you as well just for voting for us, getting us through to the shortlist.
"You look at that, you've got The Chase, Loose Women, The Repair Shop, us, just to make it to there was just so wonderful so thank you always for your love and support!”
