Bruce Willis sparks concern with frail appearance in dementia battle update
Bruce Willis and daughter Scout hold hands
Bruce Willis made a frail appearance over the Thanksgiving holiday as his adult daughters took to Instagram to share some candid updates with the Die Hard star’s dedicated fanbase.
Scout Willis, who the 68-year-old shares with his ex-wife Demi Moore shared one particularly poignant moment that struck fear into the hearts of fans who witnessed for the first time what they believe to be the severe deterioration of the Hollywood star.
The 32-year-old shared a clip on her Instagram story, titled “my guy” that saw her reaching out towards her dad, styled in a long-sleeved sports shirt and simple grey hat for the holiday.
For a moment, Bruce stared at Scout’s hand in bewilderment before sliding his hand on top and clutching onto his daughter, sparking a mile-wide smile from Scout as her father made contact.
In another snap, Scout posed sitting down on a chair with the Hollywood icon standing behind her and cupping his hand around her face in a tender father-daughter moment.
While some fans fawned over the sweet moments Scout and Bruce shared, others voiced their concerns on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: “Truly heartbreaking. Insane to realize the fragility of life in this example.
“One of the most iconic ‘strong men’ in film history. Praying for his family.”
Another added: “Thats heartbreaking to see. It’s hard watching what dementia can do to a loved one. Prayers for Bruce and his family.”
A third highlighted: “Every video he is surrounded by family and it’s clear they love him dearly. Surrounded by love. He is blessed. But bittersweet.”

Some of Bruce’s other daughters have also opened up on the devastating effects his diagnosis has had on the family, with his eldest child Rumer, who recently welcomed her first child, making a tearjerking tribute days before Thanksgiving.
On Instagram, the 35-year-old shared a throwback snap of her as a baby being held aloft in Bruce’s arms tragically titled: “Really missing my papa today.”
Her 1.1 million followers tried to reassure her that her father “is still in there” and that the bond between fathers and daughters “is stronger than any space we are separated from”.
The Fifth Element star was initially diagnosed with Aphasia more than two years ago, which affects memory and language, and ultimately retired from Hollywood shortly after.
Then, in March last year, his family including his wife and now carer Emma Heming Willis shared the devastating update that his diagnosis had progressed to Frontotemporal dementia, which causes a deterioration in behaviour, personality and language.
