Caitlyn Jenner claims stepdaughter Kim Kardashian calculated her fame

Caitlyn Jenner has claimed that her former step-daughter Kim Kardashian 'calculated' her rise to fame and fortune as part of the Kardashian dynasty.

In the dramatic trailer for House of Kardashian, an explosive documentary about at the lives about the Kardashian women, Caitlyn, 73, makes the bold statement that Kim's entry into the world of celebrity was no accident.

The three-part Sky Documentaries series is set to be released on Sunday, October 8, but the early trailer release is already causing waves.

Speaking from her Malibu home, Caitlyn tells the camera, "Kimberley calculated from the beginning 'how do I become famous?'."

Kim, 39, first became known in 2007 when a sex tapefeaturing her and her ex-boyfriend Ray J was leaked online, a few months before Keeping Up With The Kardashians first aired.

One of the other contributors to the new series can be heard in the trailer saying: "The sex tape was a means to an end. It was to create a controversy."

OK! has contacted Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian's reps for comment.

According to 72 Films, the producers of the documentary, the series will "explore their rise, reach and the cost that comes with being some of the most famous women on the planet".

Unlike in their previous reality hits, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and later The Kardashians on Hulu, Kim, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner have not been involved so don't have any say in what's shown.

But it's not short of voices close to the famous women – including Caitlyn's, who was married to Kris for over 20 years and they share children Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner.

Speaking about her involvement, Caitlyn said: “I was happy to participate in the interview process to share my side which points to the strength, influence, and prowess my family has in captivating the world’s attention and keeping it over the years. I am incredibly proud of all my children and stepchildren.”

Relations between Caitlyn and her ex-wife and stepchildren haven't been particularly smooth sailing since Caitlyn, then living as Bruce Jenner, separated in 2013. At the time they said they would remain "best friends" and the would "always have much love and respect for each other".

But following her transition, things became particularly rocky after the release of Caitlyn's autobiography, The Secrets Of My Life, which came out in 2017.

In it, Caitlyn claimed she'd told Kris about her gender issues early in their relationship – something with Kris has since denied.

"I told her I dressed as a woman, and she knew I did, because I did it several times in front of her after we were married," Caitlyn wrote.

Things were reportedly particularly acrimonious between Caitlyn and Khloe, 39, who publicly backed her mum during her disagreements with her ex.
