James Bond star George Lazenby rushed to hospital after horror fall

James Bond star George Lazenby is recovering at home after he suffered a head injury following a fall and was hospitalised.

The 84-year-old is said to be in good spirits after the accident last month and was in a nursing home in California over the past few weeks but has since returned to his main residence in Los Angeles.

Anders Frejdh Management took to X, formerly Twitter, to update fans on his health.

They said: “I’m very happy to report our client George Lazenby has safely returned home. After an accidental fall at home in November leading to a head injury, he’s rehabilitated well thanks to the great team at Beverly West Healthcare for which I, his family and friends are grateful for.

“Not easy getting old but at 84, George has certainly demonstrated what a fighter he is. Love and only love.”

“Thanks for the update Anders. Get well George,” a third echoed, while another added: “Best early Christmas present. Glad George is on the mend.”

A fifth person tweeted: “Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.”

The Australian-born actor played James Bond in the 1969 movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, alongside Diana Rigg.

George, a former model, had only appeared in adverts before being picked for the high-profile role, replacing Sean Connery.

He has maintained a low profile in recent months after the actor issued an apology after being accused of making “creepy” and “disgusting” comments in an on-stage interview.

George was appearing as part of an Australian tour called The Music of James Bond in September 2022.

Audience members in Perth took offence at what they described as “homophobic” comments, and explicit anecdotes.

George said he was ” saddened to hear” that his stories had offended fans.

“It was never my intention to make hurtful or homophobic comments and I am truly sorry if my stories that I have shared many times were taken that way,” he wrote in a statement.
