Selena Gomez Wins First VMA in 10 Years for Calm Down With Rema!
Selena Gomez had an exciting night with Rema at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards held at Prudential Center on Tuesday evening (September 12) in Newark, N.J.
The 31-year-old entertainer and the 23-year-old rapper were nominated for a few awards for their collaboration “Calm Down” – Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Afrobeats.
Selena and Rema did win one out of three for Best Afrobeats – Congratulations!
This marks Rema‘s first VMAs win ever and it’s Selena‘s second, and her first in 10 years. Selena‘s last win was for her debut solo single “Come & Get It” at the 2013 VMAs.
During the show, Selena was seen resting her head on Rema’s shoulder at one point (so cute!), she met up with BFF Taylor Swift, who cheered big for her win, and Selena was even seated next to another former Disney Channel star – Sofia Carson!
FYI: Selena is wearing a custom Oscar de la Renta dress, Pasquale Bruni jewelry, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Roger Vivier bag.
